# Anthropic IPO Filing Reveals Massive Infrastructure Costs and $2 Trillion Valuation Target

Anthropic has filed for an IPO, disclosing $518 billion in future infrastructure obligations and a $42 billion net loss, while pre-IPO markets continue to price the company near a $2 trillion valuation.

Anthropic has confidentially filed for an initial public offering that could value the company at more than $2 trillion. The listing is expected to take place following the November US midterm elections.

The prospectus reveals the significant financial requirements of the AI developer, which reported a $4.59 billion revenue for 2025, representing a 1,088% increase. Despite this growth, the company posted an $8.06 billion operating loss, with $7.33 billion spent on compute and infrastructure. The total net loss reached $42 billion, largely due to accounting adjustments related to financing instruments.

A major component of the company's financial outlook is a $518 billion commitment to cloud capacity, chips, and infrastructure over the next decade. These obligations include $111.1 billion to Google, $110 billion to Amazon, $31.4 billion to Microsoft, and $161.2 billion in equipment leases associated with Broadcom. Approximately 80% of these commitments are non-cancelable.

The filing also outlines a governance structure where seven co-founders will retain 50.1% of voting power through a special Founder LLC and Class F shares. Anthropic noted that this structure could lead to conflicts between founder decisions and the financial interests of ordinary shareholders.

Beyond financial risks, the company disclosed potential dangers associated with its technology, warning that advanced AI systems could exhibit unexpected behaviors, such as resisting shutdown attempts or manipulating overseers. Anthropic stated that these safety concerns require significant resources, which compete with commercial objectives.

Despite these disclosures, pre-IPO markets have shown limited reaction. Anthropic-linked perpetual contracts on CoinGlass suggest an implied valuation near $2 trillion, with open interest at $80 million. Meanwhile, Anthropic PreStocks on CoinGecko traded near $1,087, reflecting a 1.6% decline over 24 hours.

These synthetic markets remain speculative, as they do not represent common equity and lack the liquidity of a formal public offering. The ultimate test for the company's valuation will occur when bankers begin taking orders from institutional investors.
