# Arbitrum Joins Global Dollar Network to Capture Stablecoin Reserve Income

> Editorial content, written by CryptoResearch.

Arbitrum is partnering with the Paxos-led Global Dollar Network to integrate the USDG stablecoin, aiming to secure a portion of reserve income generated by stablecoin activity on its network.

Arbitrum is joining the Global Dollar Network, a consortium led by Paxos, to integrate the USDG stablecoin across its ecosystem. By backing the Paxos-issued asset, the Ethereum layer-2 network intends to earn a share of the reserve income generated by stablecoins circulating on its rails.

USDG launched on Arbitrum on Tuesday with integrations across various DeFi protocols and services, including Fluid, Morpho, GMX, Maple, Li.Fi, Gauntlet, Steakhouse, LayerZero, and Kraken. Uniswap and Fhenix are expected to follow.

The Global Dollar Network distributes rewards generated by USDG reserves among its partners, a model that contrasts with traditional issuers who typically retain all reserve economics. This shift provides Arbitrum with a new revenue stream from the stablecoin activity occurring on its network.

Data from DefiLlama shows that Arbitrum currently hosts approximately $3.8 billion in stablecoins, with Circle's USDC accounting for about 60% of that total. Arbitrum does not currently receive a direct share of the reserve income from these existing tokens.

Brendan Ma, head of investment strategy at the Arbitrum Foundation, stated that with USDG, Arbitrum and builders across the platform now have a stake in the growth upside. A governance proposal submitted Tuesday requests that ArbitrumDAO prioritize USDG growth, allocate 100 million ARB to the DRIP incentive program, and utilize treasury assets to bolster USDG liquidity.

The move reflects a broader trend of stablecoin consortiums competing for market share. Other initiatives include the Open Standard, which is building around OpenUSD with support from firms like Mastercard, Visa, Stripe, Coinbase, and Shopify, and the Qivalis project, which is backed by 37 European banks.
