# Bank of America Raises Semiconductor Market Forecast to $3.2 Trillion by 2030

Bank of America has increased its semiconductor market outlook, projecting a $3.2 trillion valuation by the end of the decade as AI infrastructure demand continues to drive growth.

Bank of America has revised its total addressable market forecast for the semiconductor industry, now expecting it to reach $3.2 trillion by 2030. This update follows a previous estimate of $2.7 trillion and marks a significant shift from an earlier $2 trillion projection.

The bank expects the market to nearly double from its current valuation of approximately $1.7 trillion over the next four years. This growth trajectory is notable given that the industry previously required roughly 50 years to reach $1 trillion in annual sales.

The updated outlook includes a revised compound annual growth rate of 18% for the 2026 to 2030 period, up from the bank's prior estimate of 14%. Additionally, the forecast for wafer fabrication equipment spending in 2026 has been raised to $156 billion, with expectations for that figure to reach $360 billion by the end of the decade.

Bank of America analysts dismissed concerns regarding a potential slowdown in AI spending, citing ongoing customer orders and capacity commitments from data center and AI enterprises. The revision is primarily driven by demand for memory chips and data-center components.

Several companies were highlighted as being well-positioned for this growth, including Nvidia, AMD, Marvell, Analog Devices, onsemi, Micron, Lam Research, Applied Materials, and Intel.

The bank noted that equipment manufacturers like Lam Research and Applied Materials stand to benefit from increased wafer fabrication equipment spending. Meanwhile, the inclusion of Micron reflects the critical role of memory chips, as AI workloads remain highly memory-intensive and high-bandwidth memory continues to face tight supply.
