# Bitcoin Entity-Adjusted SOPR Holds Above Breakeven for Three-Week Streak

> Editorial content, written by CryptoResearch.

Bitcoin is showing signs of resilient demand as the entity-adjusted Spent Output Profit Ratio remains above 1.0, marking the longest period of sustained profitability for 2026.

Bitcoin holders are currently selling at a profit, yet the market is absorbing the supply without a significant pullback. The entity-adjusted Spent Output Profit Ratio, or SOPR, has stayed above the 1.0 threshold for three consecutive weeks, representing the longest streak of this nature throughout 2026.

With Bitcoin trading near $81,119, the standard SOPR is approximately 1.008. This metric tracks whether coins moved on-chain are being sold at a profit or a loss, with 1.0 acting as the breakeven point. The entity-adjusted version, provided by Glassnode, filters out internal wallet movements and exchange activity to focus on actual economic transactions.

The current streak of profitability began on August 19, 2026. Previous attempts to sustain the metric above 1.0 earlier this year were met with selling pressure that pushed the ratio back below breakeven. According to CryptoQuant, the highest recorded SOPR reading during this recent period reached 1.002, suggesting a pattern of steady profit-taking rather than aggressive dumping.

Data from September 2026 indicates that both long-term and short-term holder cohorts are currently in profit, as both groups show SOPR readings above 1.0. In contrast, bearish market phases typically see short-term holders selling at a loss, which would push their specific SOPR readings below the breakeven line.

David Puell of ARK Invest noted that while the current metrics are encouraging, a definitive shift in the market regime may require more time to confirm. He suggested that while three weeks of profitability is a positive sign, a three-month trend would be more convincing.

A drop below 1.0 would indicate that the average coin being moved is being sold at a loss, a scenario historically associated with capitulation and extended downtrends. For now, the 1.008 reading serves as a buffer, indicating that buyers are present to absorb the current level of profit-taking.
