Crypto corporations have emerged as the largest disclosed corporate donors in the midterm cycle, contributing $206 million to PACs through the second quarter of 2026.

Crypto companies have funneled $206 million into super PACs and hybrid PACs through the second quarter of 2026, according to an analysis of FEC records by Public Citizen. This makes the sector the largest disclosed corporate donor group for the current midterm cycle.

The Fairshake network serves as the primary hub for these political efforts. Through August 31, the committee reported $137.9 million in receipts and $93.9 million in disbursements, leaving $108.3 million in cash on hand. Fairshake has distributed $70 million to affiliated PACs, with $37 million going to Defend American Jobs and $33 million to Protect Progress.

Major contributors to the Fairshake network include Coinbase, which provided $56.1 million, and Ripple Labs, which contributed $48.5 million. Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz have collectively donated $24 million, while Digital Currency Group has added $1 million.

Independent expenditure data indicates that approximately $70 million has been spent across 54 races. Of this total, $32.5 million supported Republican candidates, while $21.3 million supported Democrats. An additional $15.6 million was used to oppose Democratic candidates, with no recorded spending against Republicans.

Other organizations are also active in the political landscape. Fellowship PAC has raised $11 million, including $10 million from Cantor Fitzgerald, and has spent $4.45 million across 12 races. Meanwhile, the Digital Freedom Fund reported $22.4 million in receipts but has recorded $0 in independent expenditures, with the majority of its spending directed toward Winklevoss Capital Fund LLC.

The political activity follows the Senate's failure to advance the CLARITY Act, which fell short of the 60 votes required. Following this, Fairshake announced a $30 million commitment to oppose Ohio Democrat Sherrod Brown.

The impact of these funds on the midterm elections remains to be seen. While some projections suggest total independent expenditures could reach between $160 million and $200 million if remaining cash is deployed, other scenarios suggest spending could remain between $95 million and $120 million if funds are held in reserve or diverted to non-candidate activities.
