# Dormant Bitcoin Address Moves Nearly 4,500 BTC Worth Up to $382M

A Bitcoin address moved nearly 4,500 BTC after its main input sat untouched for more than four years. The receiving address showed no onward transfer at the latest check, offering no evidence that the coins were sold.

A Bitcoin address transferred 4,499.99987779 BTC to a single destination in a transaction confirmed at 02:30:04 UTC on Sept. 25, 2026. The coins were worth an estimated $379 million to $382 million when the transaction was confirmed.

The valuation is based on Coinbase’s BTC/USD low and high of $84,152.88 and $84,882.18 during the 02:00-03:00 UTC window that included the confirmation.

The transaction combined eight outputs from the source address into one output at the destination. The largest input contained 4,499.99986261 BTC and had remained unspent since it was received on April 21, 2022.

While the principal balance did not move for more than four years, the address was not entirely inactive. It received seven small deposits between Dec. 30, 2024 and Sept. 11, 2026, each totaling only a few hundred satoshis.

Those later payments added up to 2,821 satoshis, or 0.00002821 BTC. All eight inputs were consolidated into the new address, with 1,303 satoshis paid as the network fee.

At a 13:33 UTC check, the receiving address held one confirmed incoming output of 4,499.99987779 BTC. It had no spent output and no transaction waiting in the mempool, leaving the full amount visible at the destination.

The destination’s owner was not identified. The on-chain transfer does not show that the address belongs to an exchange, that the BTC was sold, that ownership changed or that an off-chain trade took place.

Large transfers involving long-held BTC often draw trader attention because the coins could eventually reach exchanges and add sell pressure. In this case, however, there was no visible onward movement at the time of the check, so the transaction alone does not establish a sale.

Any later spend would appear on Bitcoin’s blockchain, but its purpose would still require separate evidence. The receiving address also provides no information about other wallets controlled by the holder or any trading activity elsewhere.

Bitcoin was up 0.09% over 24 hours and ranked first by market cap. Its market cap stood at $1.69 trillion, while 24-hour volume was $30.59 billion, down 16.15%. Circulating supply was 20.09 million BTC and fully diluted valuation was $1.77 trillion.
