# Fidelity Bitcoin ETF Sees $125.58 Million Outflow to Close September

> Editorial content, written by CryptoResearch.

Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund recorded a $125.58 million outflow on September 30, capping off a volatile month for US spot Bitcoin ETFs.

Investors withdrew $125.58 million from Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund on September 30. This single-session outflow marked the end of a month characterized by significant volatility for US spot Bitcoin ETFs.

The fund, known as FBTC, saw outflows that aligned with approximately $126 million in Bitcoin exposure sold by clients. Despite the size of the exit, there were no reports of unusual activity at Fidelity, and the firm’s operations remained unaffected by the movement.

The broader market for spot Bitcoin ETFs experienced a turbulent September. Mid-month, the sector faced a sharp sell-off, with over $746 million in outflows recorded across September 15 and 16. This period of selling coincided with Federal Reserve rate decisions and uncertainty regarding digital asset legislation.

Sentiment shifted quickly later in the month. On September 18, FBTC saw a significant reversal, recording $310.7 million in inflows. By the end of September, cumulative inflows for US spot Bitcoin ETFs were estimated to be between $2.4 billion and $2.8 billion.

Spot Bitcoin ETFs are closely monitored as they provide a clear signal of investor sentiment from both retail and institutional participants. Because these funds utilize a managed creation and redemption process, heavy redemption days do not force the funds to sell Bitcoin directly on spot markets.

For Fidelity, the September 30 outflow does not appear to indicate underlying issues, as similar movements throughout 2026 have not disrupted the fund. The total monthly inflows suggest that long-term demand remained resilient despite the month's price swings.
