# Kalshi Eyes $750M Funding Round at $40B Valuation

> Editorial content, written by CryptoResearch.

Prediction market platform Kalshi is in talks to raise $750 million, aiming for a $40 billion valuation as it considers a 2027 IPO.

Kalshi is currently in advanced negotiations to secure at least $750 million in new funding. If successful, the deal would value the CFTC-regulated prediction market at approximately $40 billion.

This target valuation marks a significant increase from the $22 billion price tag the company reached during its $1 billion Series F round in May 2026. As recently as October 2025, the platform was valued at roughly $5 billion.

Sequoia Capital and Wellington Management are reportedly involved in the funding discussions. While Sequoia is a returning investor, a deal would mark Wellington's first investment in the platform.

The company reported annualized revenue nearing $4 billion earlier in 2026, supported by an annualized trading volume of about $178 billion. Kalshi currently holds a 95% share of the US prediction market.

Despite its regulatory status under the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Kalshi has faced legal pushback regarding its offerings. Several states, including Maryland, New Jersey, and Nevada, have issued cease-and-desist letters to the platform over contracts tied to sporting events, which account for the majority of its trading volume.

Looking ahead, CEO Tarek Mansour confirmed in June 2026 that the company is weighing a potential public listing in 2027. Kalshi’s valuation target stands in contrast to its primary competitor, Polymarket, which was last reported to be in funding talks at a valuation of approximately $15 billion.
