# KULR Technology Liquidates Remaining Bitcoin Holdings for $59 Million

> Editorial content, written by CryptoResearch.

Battery technology firm KULR Technology has exited its Bitcoin treasury strategy, selling its final 764 BTC to focus on core operations.

KULR Technology Group has officially ended its two-year Bitcoin treasury experiment, liquidating its entire remaining stash of approximately 764 BTC. The company generated roughly $58.6 million from these sales, which were executed in open-market transactions between August 20 and September 11, 2026.

The final batch of coins was sold at a weighted average price of about $76,633 per BTC. This follows an earlier divestment in July 2026, where the company sold roughly 333 BTC for approximately $21.5 million at an average price of $64,538 per coin. That initial sale was primarily used to pay off a $20 million credit facility with Coinbase that had been collateralized by the company's Bitcoin holdings.

By clearing the loan, KULR was able to free up the remaining coins for the subsequent sales. In total, the two rounds of liquidation generated about $80.1 million in gross proceeds from roughly 1,097 BTC. At its peak in 2026, the company held over 1,000 BTC, accumulated through direct purchases, mining operations, and the use of the Coinbase credit facility.

KULR began its Bitcoin strategy in late 2024, joining other public companies that adopted a treasury model centered on BTC. However, the volatility of the asset created significant impacts on the company's balance sheet, leading leadership to prioritize risk reduction by mid-2026.

With the Bitcoin holdings now at zero, KULR plans to redirect the $58.6 million in liquidity toward its core business, which focuses on thermal management and battery safety technology for the aerospace, defense, and electric vehicle sectors. The company has not yet provided details on how it intends to deploy the capital.

Alongside the filing regarding the Bitcoin sales, the company announced that CFO Michael Kimel was granted 200,000 time-based Restricted Stock Units, which are set to vest over four years beginning September 10, 2026.
