# Majority of Blockchains Report Zero Daily Fees According to DefiLlama Data

> Editorial content, written by CryptoResearch.

Data from DefiLlama reveals that 71% of tracked blockchains generated no fees over a 24-hour period, highlighting a significant concentration of activity among a few top networks.

A recent snapshot of blockchain activity shows that most networks are struggling to attract paying users. Out of 558 blockchains tracked by DefiLlama on October 3, 2026, 399 networks generated zero fees over the previous 24 hours.

The data indicates that 443 of the tracked chains collected less than $10 in fees during that same window. This concentration of activity suggests that while many networks exist, only a small fraction are seeing consistent usage.

Only seven blockchains managed to clear $100,000 in daily fees. Solana led the group with $1.09 million, followed by Tron at $922,900 and BSC at $793,900. Ethereum and Bitcoin followed in fourth and fifth place with $435,000 and $325,600 respectively.

Base and Robinhood Chain rounded out the top seven, with the latter just crossing the $100,000 threshold by $900. While fee generation reflects user spending patterns rather than overall network significance, it serves as a concrete metric for engagement.

This trend is not an isolated event, as DefiLlama data has shown similar concentration patterns throughout 2026. While the leaderboard remains competitive, with networks like Canton Network occasionally appearing at the top, the vast majority of the long tail remains inactive.

For investors and users, the data provides a filter to distinguish between active ecosystems and those with little to no real-world usage. While some networks may intentionally keep fees low, a total of zero fees suggests a lack of network activity regardless of token valuation or marketing efforts.
