# Moscow Exchange Launches Bitcoin Perpetual Futures

The Moscow Exchange has introduced Bitcoin perpetual futures, recording $1.3 million in volume on its first day of trading for qualified investors.

The Moscow Exchange officially opened trading for Bitcoin perpetual futures on September 22. The new BTCUSDF contract saw $1.3 million in volume during its debut session.

These perpetual-style futures are structured as one-day instruments that feature automatic daily rollovers. This design allows traders to maintain continuous exposure to Bitcoin without the need to manually roll positions each month.

The contracts are priced in US dollars but are cash-settled in rubles, ensuring no physical Bitcoin is exchanged. This structure allows the exchange to operate within the regulatory framework established by the Bank of Russia.

Trading access is currently limited to qualified investors who meet specific financial or professional criteria. The contracts carry a first-tier margin requirement of 22%, providing traders with approximately 4.5x leverage.

The exchange has set funding parameters at 0% for K1 and 0.35% for K2. This launch follows the exchange's previous introduction of monthly crypto futures, which began in late 2025 and expanded to include Solana, XRP, and Tron by May 2026.

By September 2026, more than 72,000 qualified investors had participated in the exchange's crypto derivatives products. Cumulative turnover for these existing futures reached over 600 billion rubles, with average daily turnover hitting 2.5 billion rubles in August 2026.
