Nvidia has revealed a massive financial entanglement with AI lab Anthropic, with total contracted value exceeding $180 billion across cloud compute, equity, and infrastructure deals.

Nvidia has reported that its total contracted value with Anthropic has surpassed $180 billion. This figure represents the cumulative weight of various agreements, including equity commitments, cloud compute deals, and infrastructure arrangements that link the chipmaker to the AI developer.

The financial relationship involves multiple layers. Anthropic entered a $35 billion cloud compute agreement with Lambda, an Nvidia-backed provider, to secure 350 megawatts of capacity at a Texas data center developed by Hut 8. Additionally, Anthropic signed a $45 billion, six-year deal with Nscale for 460 megawatts of capacity using Nvidia Vera Rubin hardware in West Virginia.

On the equity front, Nvidia committed up to $10 billion to Anthropic in November 2025. This was part of a larger funding round that included a $5 billion commitment from Microsoft, alongside a $30 billion agreement for Anthropic to utilize Microsoft Azure for its computing requirements.

Nvidia is also reportedly in negotiations to anchor as much as $10 billion in Anthropic’s anticipated IPO, which is targeting a $100 billion raise at a $2 trillion valuation. These interlocking commitments have sparked discussions regarding circular financing, where Nvidia invests in companies that subsequently use that capital to purchase Nvidia hardware.

Nvidia’s financial disclosures for the second quarter of fiscal year 2027 show $279 billion in supply obligations and $108.5 billion in guarantee obligations related to AI cloud and data center partners. The scale of these deals highlights Nvidia's dominance in the AI infrastructure layer, though it also creates concentration risk for the chipmaker should Anthropic’s business trajectory change.
