# Robinhood Stock Token Holders Surge 164% as Trading Volume Drops

> Editorial content, written by CryptoResearch.

Robinhood’s tokenized stock offerings added over 2 million new holders in 30 days, though a significant decline in transfer volume suggests a shift toward long-term holding.

Robinhood’s tokenized stock ecosystem saw a massive influx of new users over the past month, with the total number of wallets holding these assets jumping from 1.33 million to 3.51 million. This 164% increase in holders, reported by RWA.xyz as of mid-September 2026, highlights a rapid expansion in the platform's reach.

Despite the surge in holders, trading activity has moved in the opposite direction. Monthly transfer volumes on the platform fell 57.34% to $12.85 billion during the same period. With an average position size of roughly $134 per holder, the data indicates that these tokens are increasingly being treated as long-term portfolio allocations rather than instruments for active day trading.

Robinhood Chain, which launched its mainnet on July 1, 2026, currently supports over 190 tokenized stock instruments, including individual US equities and ETFs. These ERC-20 compliant tokens are designed to be compatible with Ethereum-based wallets and DeFi protocols, offering 24/7 trading access to users in more than 120 countries. American investors are currently excluded from the platform.

While the growth in holders is significant, the tokens do not provide legal ownership of the underlying shares. They are backed 1:1 by custodied equities, meaning holders do not receive traditional shareholder rights such as voting or direct dividend claims. CEO Vlad Tenev has expressed interest in pursuing US regulatory approval, though the Securities and Exchange Commission has not provided any indication of a potential path forward.

The current market dynamic presents a unique situation for the platform. If the trend of accumulating and holding continues, secondary market liquidity could decrease. This could potentially lead to increased volatility if a shift in market sentiment triggers a wave of selling from the millions of new holders.

The small average position size suggests that institutional capital has not yet entered the ecosystem. While other platforms on Solana and BNB Chain are also competing in the tokenized equity space, Robinhood currently maintains a lead in distribution scale.
