Ethereum Dominates Euro Stablecoin Growth With $32M Monthly Increase

Ethereum captured the majority of a $39.9 million surge in euro-denominated stablecoin market cap, cementing its lead in the regulated European sector.

Ethereum has solidified its position in the euro-denominated stablecoin market, adding $32 million in supply over the last 30 days. This growth represents the bulk of a $39.9 million increase across three networks, with Arc and Base accounting for the remaining gains.

While the $32 million figure is small compared to the broader dollar-denominated stablecoin market, it highlights the rapid expansion of the euro sector. The market has grown from approximately €50 million in early 2024 to roughly $835 million by mid-August 2026.

Ethereum currently holds a 69.5% share of the total euro stablecoin market, with supply estimated between $579 million and $589 million. Since the start of 2026, the network has added about $125 million in new euro stablecoin supply.

The market is heavily concentrated, with Circle’s EURC and SG-Forge’s EURCV accounting for over 80% of the total supply. Both assets are designed to comply with the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework, which has become a primary driver for institutional adoption. By mid-2026, €674 million of the total supply was MiCA-compliant.

Newer networks are also entering the space. Arc, which launched its public mainnet on September 16, 2026, has deployed about $7 million in EURC, focusing on stablecoin-native payments and foreign exchange. Base currently accounts for 6% to 7% of the total market.

The regulatory clarity provided by MiCA has allowed issuers to operate across 27 EU member states with a single license, attracting institutional interest from firms like Circle and SG-Forge. This institutional focus has been the primary catalyst for the sector's growth.

Market participants may be watching for potential risks related to this concentration. With two stablecoins controlling over 80% of the supply and Ethereum holding nearly 70% of the market cap, any issues affecting these key players could have significant implications for the entire sector.
