Galaxy Digital Adds $100 Million in sUSDS to Treasury
Galaxy Digital has integrated sUSDS into its corporate treasury and approved the stablecoin as collateral for its institutional lending desk as part of a partnership with the Sky Frontier Foundation.

Galaxy Digital has allocated $100 million of its own capital into sUSDS, the savings version of the USDS stablecoin within the Sky ecosystem. This move follows a partnership agreement with the Sky Frontier Foundation and Sky Protocol announced on September 23, 2026.
Beyond holding the asset, Galaxy has authorized sUSDS as collateral for its institutional lending operations. According to Max Bareiss, clients can now post sUSDS to secure loans while continuing to earn the variable Sky Savings Rate on the collateralized assets. Galaxy operates an average loan book of $1.4 billion and serves over 1,600 counterparties.
The firm also acquired an undisclosed amount of SKY, the protocol’s governance token. This latest deal builds on an existing credit relationship between the two entities, which includes a $500 million warehouse lending facility funded by USDS that operates through the principal agent Grove.
As of June 30, 2026, Galaxy reported holding nearly $2.5 billion in cash and stablecoins. The $100 million sUSDS position represents a portion of this balance sheet. Meanwhile, the supply of sUSDS reached $5.52 billion by the end of Q2 2026, reflecting a 149% year-over-year increase.
The integration of sUSDS into Galaxy’s lending desk provides institutional clients with increased utility for the token. However, the arrangement introduces various risks, including the variable nature of the Sky Savings Rate and the protocol's B- credit rating from S&P Global, which was assigned in August 2025.
Galaxy now maintains multiple points of exposure to the Sky ecosystem, including its treasury holdings, governance token ownership, and the use of sUSDS as collateral. Traders may look to monitor the growth of sUSDS supply and the volume of Galaxy’s loan book backed by the stablecoin to gauge the impact of this partnership.
