Hyperliquid Labs to Sell 3.75 Million HYPE Tokens in Private OTC Deal
Hyperliquid Labs plans to execute a private sale of 3.75 million HYPE tokens on October 7, a move intended to bypass public exchanges and mitigate potential sell pressure.

Hyperliquid Labs has confirmed a transaction involving 3.75 million HYPE tokens, which are set to be sold in a private over-the-counter deal. According to co-founder Iliensinc, the tokens will be transferred to an institution rather than being introduced to public markets.
The volume of this transaction is 8.65 times larger than the unlock that occurred on September 6. By moving the tokens through a private sale, the project aims to avoid adding immediate sell pressure to exchange order books.
While the sale is scheduled for October 7, specific details regarding the buyer, as well as any holding or hedging requirements attached to the deal, have not been disclosed. The lack of clarity surrounding the buyer's strategy has left the market to speculate on the potential impact.
Market participants are currently monitoring for any further official updates or disclosures regarding the terms of the agreement. The long-term effect on the HYPE price will likely depend on how the institutional buyer manages the position and whether additional information is released by Hyperliquid Labs.
