SparkLend TVL Hits $7.4B as Protocol Shifts Focus to Ethereum
SparkLend has seen its total market size grow by 55% since January, reaching $7.39 billion as the protocol sunsets its Gnosis Chain deployment to prioritize Ethereum.
SparkLend has recorded a 55% increase in its total market size since the beginning of the year, bringing the figure to $7.39 billion as of September 2026. The protocol, which functions as the lending arm of the Spark ecosystem, has seen significant growth in locked value over the summer months.
Data from DefiLlama shows the protocol's TVL at approximately $4.96 billion, with active loans accounting for roughly $2.436 billion. This TVL figure positions SparkLend as the third-largest lending protocol currently tracked by the platform.
The protocol experienced a notable influx of capital during the summer, adding over $1.3 billion in locked value since the end of May 2026, when TVL was recorded at roughly $3.6 billion.
As part of a strategic shift to focus on its core network, SparkLend officially deprecated its Gnosis Chain deployment on September 14, 2026. The protocol cited low usage and cost inefficiencies as the primary reasons for the exit, noting that nearly all activity has been concentrated on Ethereum.
Users with outstanding loans on Gnosis Chain were required to repay or migrate their positions before the September 14 deadline. Positions remaining after this cutoff are now eligible for liquidation.
SparkLend, which launched on Ethereum in May 2023, is a non-custodial protocol that integrates with the Sky protocol, formerly known as MakerDAO. Its lending portfolio is centered on blue-chip assets, including ETH, wrapped Bitcoin, and stablecoins such as USDS and USDT.
