Anchorage Digital Adds USD Accounts and SWIFT Access via Standard Chartered

Anchorage Digital is integrating USD accounts and SWIFT payment capabilities into its platform through a new partnership with Standard Chartered, targeting international institutional clients.

Anchorage Digital is expanding its banking services for international institutional clients by partnering with Standard Chartered. The move allows eligible clients to hold US dollars, manage international wires, and access 24/7 settlement services directly through the Anchorage Digital platform.

Clients onboarded via Anchorage Digital Singapore can now utilize Standard Chartered’s banking infrastructure to send and receive third-party wires. The service includes access to named virtual accounts with unique routing details and SWIFT transfers, which can be managed alongside the firm’s existing digital asset custody and trading products.

The integration also enables round-the-clock settlement with counterparties that bank with Standard Chartered Singapore, including availability on weekends and holidays. This expansion is intended to consolidate fiat and digital asset operations, removing the need for institutions to manage separate providers for banking, custody, and settlement.

The service is aimed at a range of institutional entities, including crypto exchanges, global trading firms, asset managers, family offices, and banks. Anchorage Digital stated that the initiative is part of a broader effort to merge traditional banking rails with blockchain infrastructure.

Anchorage Digital CEO and co-founder Nathan McCauley said that global businesses should not have to choose between the speed of digital assets and the reliability of traditional banking rails. Luke Boland, Global Head of Fintech at Standard Chartered, added that the partnership combines the bank’s payments and risk infrastructure with Anchorage Digital’s regulated platform.

The company noted that this development also strengthens its presence in the Asia Pacific region, where it reports growing institutional demand for digital asset infrastructure.
