Bitwise Launches Spot NEAR ETF on NYSE Arca
Bitwise Asset Management has officially launched the first US spot NEAR ETF, ticker NRR, which includes a built-in staking strategy for shareholders.

Bitwise Asset Management officially brought its spot NEAR ETF to market on September 29, 2026, with shares now trading on NYSE Arca under the ticker NRR. The product marks the first time US investors can gain direct exposure to NEAR Protocol tokens through a traditional brokerage account.
Unlike standard crypto ETFs, the fund incorporates a staking strategy. Bitwise intends to stake the entirety of the ETF’s holdings, with 67% of the generated staking rewards distributed back to the fund and its shareholders. The firm retains a 33% cut of these rewards to cover staking-related operational costs.
The fund carries an annual management fee of 0.75%. Custody of the underlying NEAR tokens is managed by Coinbase Custody, while BNY Mellon oversees administrative duties and cash operations.
The product’s path to launch began in April 2025 with the organization of its Delaware statutory trust. Following a lengthy development period, the fund received approval from NYSE Arca on September 24, 2026, with the SEC confirming the effectiveness of the registration statement on the same day.
Initial liquidity for the fund was established through a $500,000 seed basket consisting of 20,000 shares. This followed an earlier formation phase that involved 8 shares priced at $25 each.
The launch of NRR expands the existing Bitwise crypto lineup, which already includes spot Bitcoin and Ether products. The firm is targeting the NEAR ecosystem as it continues to focus on AI-related blockchain infrastructure.
Following the initial regulatory approval on September 24, the price of NEAR moved toward or above $5. While the ETF offers a simplified way for investors to access staking rewards without managing their own custody or wallets, the 0.75% management fee remains a factor for those comparing the product against self-staking alternatives.
