China has warned the United States that ongoing difficulties regarding G20 negotiations could negatively affect future summits. This warning follows rising tensions concerning tariffs and the Iran crisis, which China asserts are harmful to the global economy.

The diplomatic friction has influenced market expectations regarding a potential visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to the U.S. before the end of 2026. Market participants have adjusted their outlooks, reflecting a decrease in confidence that such a visit will occur.

The probability of a visit by Xi Jinping by December 31, 2026, fell from 96% to 94.5% over a 24-hour period. Similarly, the likelihood of a visit by November 1, 2026, declined from 95% to 93.3%.
