Dogecoin Integrates With Solana Through Wormhole and Sunrise
Dogecoin is now available on the Solana blockchain natively via the Native Token Transfers framework and the Sunrise liquidity gateway, enabling the transfer of the asset's circulating supply.

Dogecoin has been integrated into the Solana ecosystem, allowing the token to exist on the network without the use of wrapped assets. This integration utilizes the Native Token Transfers framework developed by Wormhole and a liquidity gateway known as Sunrise.
The integration, which went live on May 23, 2025, encompasses the entire circulating supply of Dogecoin, valued at approximately $35 billion. This represents one of the largest single-asset cross-chain transfers in the history of the industry.
The Native Token Transfers framework functions by moving the token representation natively rather than creating synthetic versions. This process uses zero-knowledge proofs to verify transfers while allowing the issuer to maintain control over metadata and supply policies. Wormhole has supported over 40 blockchains and facilitated more than $11.5 billion in total inflows to Solana.
Sunrise, a liquidity gateway incubated by Wormhole Labs, launched on November 23, 2025. It aims to prevent liquidity fragmentation by assigning a unified mint address to incoming assets. Other tokens listed on Sunrise include MON from the Monad ecosystem and the ARB token from Arbitrum, which joined in September 2026.
For Solana, the inclusion of Dogecoin is intended to increase liquidity within its ecosystem. For Dogecoin, the integration provides access to decentralized finance applications such as lending protocols and automated market makers, while maintaining the token's original properties.
The use of cross-chain infrastructure introduces technical complexity. The concentration of assets through a single gateway like Sunrise presents potential risks, as a protocol-level issue could impact liquidity.
