Litecoin Rallies 8% as Network Volume Hits $1 Billion
Litecoin climbed to eight-month highs near $69 following a surge in network activity that saw $1 billion in economic volume processed in a single day.

Litecoin surged roughly 8% over a 24-hour window, hitting intraday highs near $69 and reaching price levels not seen in eight months. The move followed a spike in network activity, with the Litecoin Foundation reporting that over 17 million LTC, or approximately $1 billion in adjusted economic volume, moved across the chain in one day.
Market activity intensified alongside the price action. Spot trading volume nearly tripled compared to levels seen around September 18, reaching roughly $948 million. Meanwhile, futures open interest climbed above $500 million, indicating that traders were increasingly utilizing leverage to bet on continued momentum.
The price action allowed LTC to break through a technical resistance cluster between $64 and $65, with the asset trading within an intraday range of $59 to $69. Daily active addresses on the network have recently fluctuated between 200,000 and over 300,000.
Looking ahead, analysts are eyeing $71 as the next potential upside target if buying pressure persists. Conversely, a close back below the $64 support level could invite renewed selling pressure and invalidate the current technical setup.
The network is currently seeing development efforts focused on LitVM, a Layer-2 solution intended to introduce smart contract functionality to the chain. Additionally, Litecoin has been mentioned in discussions regarding potential institutional crypto ETF products as demand for regulated exposure grows.
The $1 billion in daily transfer volume marks significant network utilization relative to the circulating supply. Traders are now focused on whether the $64 support zone will hold, as a breakdown could lead to a sharp reversal given the thin order book observed during the recent rally.
