Robinhood Unveils AI Trading Agents and Crypto Perpetual Futures
Robinhood is launching AI-powered trading agents and crypto perpetual futures for eligible U.S. customers, aiming to provide active traders with tools previously limited to institutional firms.

Robinhood announced the upcoming launch of AI-powered trading agents and crypto perpetual futures during its HOOD Summit in Houston. The new features are designed to cater to active traders by offering automated strategy execution and leveraged crypto positions.
The new AI tool, dubbed Robinhood Agents, allows users to create a separate account where an AI model can research markets, build strategies, and execute trades. Unlike standard chatbots, these agents are capable of taking direct action within limits defined by the user. Customers can select from various AI models, including OpenAI's GPT-Luna, which will be free to use through the end of the year.
To manage risk, the agents are restricted to the funds within their specific accounts. While trade approval is required by default, users have the option to disable this requirement. The company also plans to introduce a feature called Loops, which will enable agents to carry out recurring strategies automatically, such as monitoring markets or trading while the user is away.
In addition to AI tools, Robinhood is expanding its crypto offerings to include perpetual futures. These products will allow eligible U.S. customers to take leveraged positions on crypto assets that do not expire. The platform will offer up to 10x leverage on bitcoin and ether, and 3x leverage on SOL, XRP, DOGE, ADA, LINK, and HYPE.
Robinhood will facilitate these perpetual trades through Bitstamp, the exchange it acquired last year. The company plans to charge a fee of 0.01% per trade through the end of the year. These products are currently rolling out to eligible users in the United States.
CEO Vlad Tenev stated that the company is aiming to provide tools once reserved for hedge funds, big banks, and quant firms. Abhishek Fatehpuria, vice president of product management, added that users are at a disadvantage if they are not utilizing these tools.
