Solana Tokenized Stock Volume Hits $12.4 Billion Year-to-Date

Tokenized equities on Solana have seen a surge in activity, reaching $12.4 billion in DEX volume this year as the ecosystem captures the majority of global on-chain equity trading.

Tokenized stocks on Solana have recorded $12.4 billion in decentralized exchange volume so far in 2026. Raydium has emerged as the primary venue for this activity, accounting for $6.1 billion of that total.

The growth in on-chain equities has been rapid, with Solana recording $5.8 billion in tokenized equity DEX volume during the second quarter of 2026. This represented a 114% increase compared to the previous quarter. During that same period, Solana captured approximately 95% of global on-chain equity DEX trading.

September 2026 saw $4.4 billion in volume, with Raydium and Orca facilitating the majority of the flow. Raydium has become the dominant platform, recently routing over 90% of Solana’s tokenized stock DEX flows. By mid-September, the platform's cumulative volume in the category exceeded $5 billion, with $2.3 billion processed in the third quarter alone, marking a 40% increase over the second quarter.

A significant portion of this activity is driven by xStocks, a product built by Backed Finance. Each xStocks token is backed 1:1 by an equity held with a custodian. By September 18, 2026, xStocks had reached $6.1 billion in cumulative trading volume on Solana, representing 54% of all tokenized stock volume in the network's history.

The rise of tokenized equities allows for 24/7 trading, enabling market participants to react to news outside of traditional stock market hours. Across all blockchain networks, tokenized stocks have generated $48.7 billion in volume over the last 12 months, with Solana frequently capturing over 95% of that share during peak periods.

The sector is seeing increased competition and regulatory attention. While Solana leads, other networks like BNB Chain and Robinhood Chain are also competing for on-chain equity traders. Additionally, a recent SEC innovation exemption aims to facilitate compliant on-chain trading.

For traders, the current landscape highlights a reliance on a small number of platforms and providers. Because these tokens are backed by custodied shares, participants are exposed to counterparty considerations regarding the issuer and the custodian that are not present when holding stocks directly.
