Stablecoin Market Capitalization Reaches $309 Billion
The total market capitalization of stablecoins has risen to approximately $309.27 billion, marking a 50% increase since the end of 2024 and signaling a return of capital to the ecosystem.

The stablecoin sector has experienced significant growth, adding roughly $100 billion in capitalization over the past 20 months. This brings the total market value to approximately $309.27 billion, a recovery from recent fluctuations that saw the total cap dip into the $302 billion range.
This current valuation remains approximately $13 billion below the all-time high of $322 billion recorded in May 2026. The growth suggests that capital is returning to the ecosystem following a period of contraction, providing a pool of potential buying pressure that was not present two years ago.
Tether and Circle maintain a combined market share of approximately 85%. Tether’s USDT accounts for roughly 60% of the market with an estimated $183 billion in circulating supply, while Circle’s USDC holds between 24% and 25% of the market, valued at approximately $74 billion to $75 billion.
Ethereum and Tron serve as the primary networks for stablecoin activity. Ethereum is utilized for institutional and decentralized finance operations, including lending, borrowing, and trading. Tron is primarily used for peer-to-peer transfers and payments, particularly in Asia and parts of Africa, due to its low transaction fees.
Market capitalization in this sector is driven by the minting and redemption activities of issuers. The current figures reflect these dynamics, as minting often indicates demand from institutional buyers or exchanges, while redemptions can signal capital exiting the crypto ecosystem.
