US Spot Bitcoin and Ether ETFs Record $1.27 Billion in Single-Day Inflows

Institutional appetite for crypto remains strong, as evidenced by a combined $1.269 billion in net inflows into US spot Bitcoin and Ether ETFs on September 21. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust, known as IBIT, led the market activity by attracting approximately $618 million in a single day.

The surge in inflows marks a significant rebound following a week where weekly Bitcoin ETF inflows were modest, totaling around $6.2 million. Bitcoin traded above $81,000 on September 21, with prices reaching near $82,000 during the session.

Cumulative net inflows for Bitcoin ETFs since their January 2024 launch have reached between $55 billion and $55.8 billion. Total assets under management across these products have surpassed $102.5 billion, with some estimates suggesting the figure reached closer to $105.6 billion by late September 2026.

BlackRock’s IBIT continues to maintain its position as the category leader, with Fidelity’s FBTC frequently ranking as the second major beneficiary. Together, these products have captured the majority of net inflows on most trading days.

The inclusion of Ether ETFs in the $1.269 billion total highlights the ongoing institutionalization of crypto exposure. As these products continue to grow, their market impact becomes more pronounced, with IBIT’s buying activity creating immediate demand on the open market.
