XRP Derivatives Volume Reaches Six-Month High
XRP futures trading volume surpassed $64.6 billion in August, marking the highest monthly total since February as market activity increased alongside a 30% price rise.

Futures trading volume for XRP exceeded $64.6 billion in August, signaling a significant return of derivatives activity. This surge in volume coincided with a price increase of nearly 30% throughout the month, with the token moving from $1.06 to a high of $1.50 on August 24 before closing at approximately $1.35.
Binance led the derivatives market, recording $37 billion in XRP futures volume. Bybit followed with $14.54 billion, and OKX recorded $12.88 billion. Spot trading volume also reached its highest point since February, with Binance leading at $7.28 billion, followed by Upbit at $4.68 billion and Bithumb Korea at $2.59 billion.
Institutional interest was reflected in US spot XRP ETFs, which saw net inflows of $18.96 million in August. These inflows brought the total assets under management for these products to $1.48 billion.
Market participants attribute the increased activity to two primary factors: accumulation by large holders ahead of a vote on September 15 and the introduction of live ETF products. Despite the upward price movement, the futures market did not show a singular directional bias, as both long and short interest remained elevated.
