Robinhood Launches Leveraged Crypto Futures for US Users
Robinhood has introduced perpetual futures trading for select US users, offering up to 10x leverage on Bitcoin and Ethereum through its derivatives platform.
Robinhood is expanding its crypto offerings in the United States by launching perpetual futures contracts. Starting September 29, 2026, select users can access leveraged trading on major digital assets through the company's derivatives platform.
The new service allows for up to 10x leverage on Bitcoin and Ethereum. For other supported tokens, including Solana, XRP, Dogecoin, Cardano, Chainlink, and HYPE, the leverage is capped at 3x.
To encourage adoption, Robinhood has set a trading fee of 0.01% for these products, which will remain in effect until the end of 2026. The platform is utilizing infrastructure from Bitstamp, which Robinhood acquired for approximately $200 million in a deal that closed in June 2025.
The rollout is facilitated by Robinhood Derivatives, which is a CFTC-registered futures commission merchant and NFA member. This structure allows the company to offer these products within a regulated framework. Robinhood previously launched similar crypto perpetual futures in the EU in April 2026.
The move follows other recent platform updates, such as the introduction of AI trading agents and weekend equity trading. While the new features target active traders, the company has noted the risks associated with leveraged positions, specifically the potential for rapid liquidation during adverse market moves.
